inspirational

No one ever looks forward to a funeral. In fact I did dread it but once we said goodbye to him and closed the casket, I was able to relax and really try to enjoy the speakers and hearing about all the unforgettable memories we had with him and amazing things he accomplished. I have always been proud to call him my grandfather but after listening at the services, I was in awe of the man he was in the years before I even met him. I don't think I am the only one that was inspired to be a better person when I walked out...

I love and miss my grandpa on a daily basis. Every time I drive pass their home and I see his car, my heart hurts. Life moves on but my heart will not.

What blog?

Today I realized I have a blog, totally forgot about my beloved blog that I have put so much time into. So I must get reacquainted. Life has been so crazy the past few months that I haven't found any time to even think about blogging, yet somehow someway I found a way to check my FB account or look through Pinterest. Interesting right?

**Warning: there could be extreme sarcasm throughout this post.**

Well if you haven't forgotten, I have a husband named Jake. He is my partner in life and my very best friend. In reality he gets on my nerves from time to time but I don't want to get rid of him, yet:) And for now he says he kinda likes me too. So we have decided to be together for a little while.. maybe even eternity if and ONLY if he stays nice.

This is he and I on a date last week:

I can't help but laugh at the very first picture. The timer was getting ready to go off and we weren't sure what to do so at the last minute I yell "guns" and that is the pose he does. When he saw that he said, "those might be the most masculine fake gun hands I've ever seen." He is a real tough guy, can't you tell?  If you were to see him with those guns wouldn't your knees be shaking?
You can tell that we have real boring dates together. We hardly have anything to talk about and absolutely NO laughing whatsoever. That is how we like it. Try it sometime, so romantic:)

Mourning

My special grandpa left this earth last night. This is a sad day. Hard to wake up to know he will not be here however I'm SO grateful that I was able to know such a great man. He created such an amazing family and came to every single thing to support every family  member. He also had so many friends that respected him. He was in WW2 and came home to new twin girls (which one of them was my mother). He became a teacher and from what I heard, THE BEST TEACHER. He then went on to becoming a Vice Principal at Viewmont High School. Anytime I met someone that knew my grandpa from school, they would always say what a unique VP he was. He really went out of his way to be their friend and help the kids that needed it. He took kids that were struggling in area's to the golf course and play golf with them to spend time with them.
I was lucky enough to have him become my very own tutor. He would sit down with me in his kitchen and go over math and science with me when I was younger.
After so many years of being so active in everything, he got Parkinsons Disease. He didn't want that to get the best of him so he would still everything he normally did and more! He woke up at 4 am to do the sand traps at Bountiful Ridge every morning. He loved to take my son up to the course to see the deer and also get the balls around the course to take home. I'm so grateful my son had a relationship with him.
After watching him struggle the past few weeks, I know he is rejoicing with his parents, friends, and family members that have gone before him. It definitely doesn't make the pain easier of losing him but it comforts me. I will miss even going to the hospital to hold his hand and be by him... I will miss driving passed his house and stopping in to see him. He would always make us grilled cheese sandwiches and milk shakes. He also was known for making the best ice cream and sherbet. He was with my grandma for 69 years and I know that she will struggle through the grieving process.
I love you gramps.. you were so very special to me and SO many people. Can't wait to see you again.

Love you!
