This is a checked off my bucket list, finally. Never thought this would ever happen. To most people they look at a 5k as an easy task. Not to me, no way no how. Last year someone in my neighborhood asked me why I didn't run and I said, " my body wasn't made for running." Never would have I thought less than a year later I would sign myself up for any type of "fun run" :) I wanted to take it seriously and train for it and my goal was to just finish (along with not compare myself to anyone else's pace). I can say, I fulfilled each goal with flying colors and haven't felt that accomplished in a while. My sweet husband knows how hard I trained for this and how seriously I took it, and when I finally finished it we both got teary eyed. I'm grateful for a man in my life that isn't just there for me when I fall but also for the victories. It was also so fun to see my parents and sister waiting at the finish line on Thanksgiving morning.
This will not be a tradition of mine. Who knows maybe one day I'll get to a 10k?
