Tonight will be something I want to hold in my heart forever. Just a picture perfect night putting my two special babies to bed (and trust me when I tell you.. that HARDLY ever happens). But after a night of eating the ever gourmet "tuna fish sandwiches" for dinner, J & and I watched Real Housewives of Atlanta and afterwards J rushed up to bed and I was left to put both kids to bed, which I wasn't too happy about (now I am grateful it happened this way). It was late and I didn't feel like reading so I was hoping the kids weren't about to ask for a book and just as I put London in her bed, she begged for the big old Barbie book that her much bigger cousin gave to her. So I thought I could quickly read it to her and I immediately realized that my voice was almost completely gone.. so I whispered it to her. It had many different shapes in there and I was so surprised how much she knew at 2 years old. She really is soaking up so much information on her own and every time I look at her I imagine her as an older women and how beautiful and graceful she will be (her middle name Grace represents her very well). As I went to close the book, I felt someone on the other side of me across from London. Isaiah looked at me and asked if I could read him one as well. So I thought, okay I have to be fair right? So I took my time with him barely getting a whisper out. After that book was through, London snuck back into Isaiah's room and we talked how "Tinkerbell" will be coming soon and they needed to stay in their bed's all night in order for Tinkerbell to leave them a treat under their pillow.
*** quick side note: Tinkerbell comes to our house (thanks Jesica) at night when the kids go to sleep right when we ask and they stay in their bed's all night. She leaves them a small treat under their pillow. The kids look forward to waking up and lifting their pillow to start the day out right with the one and only food group, sugar!!! ***
I tucked Isaiah in his bed and I always ask them what adventure he will be going on in his dreams that night.. and he always comes up with the most elaborate dreams. This specific night was that he would dream about being in Star Wars Lego game for the Wii. I guess that is telling me he is playing it too much huh?
Next I took London to her room and tucked her in. She is always the most difficult one to get to go to bed and to stay in bed. So I am always crossing my fingers that each night will be easier. I put her down and I asked her what she was going to dream about tonight and usually it is bunnies but tonight it was Princesses, Snow White, Jasmine, & Bell. I also asked if Princess London will be in it and she gave me her big dimpled smile and said, "you're silly mom." I left to walk down stairs and I heard a few footsteps and she came out and said, "I want to go with you..." So I got her back in to bed and had her lay on her side and I rubbed her back and told her to start thinking of her Princesses. Then she turned around and said, "You know what? I love you mom." I gave her a million kisses and told her it was time for bed and to not get out of bed because I will feel bad if Tinkerbell leaves Isaiah a treat and not her. So as I got up to walk out, I heard her say, "Don't forget to call Tinkerbell and tell her to come!"
