For the record.. this has been the best day I have had with the kids in weeks!! For the most part, everything went smoothly. Since school started, both kids have been extremely difficult in everything I have asked them to do. After a variety of methods of praise, discipline, yelling, and crying.. I finally felt a little calm from the storm. Isaiah got right up for school and made his bed, got ready, brushed his teeth, and even made London's bed for me. On the other hand.. London is in a very big transition in her baby life.. Yesterday I changed her crib into a toddler bed and Sunday started being persistent with her being potty trained. London is very sweet but don't let it mistake you for her terrible stubbornness. I have never seen anything like this! She knows she has control over those two things.. sleeping and potty and if she doesn't feel like it, she will prove her point to me! So today, not only did she potty for me... she napped in her big girl bed without even attempting to get out or even cry. Ohhh just what I needed to move forward another day! We then went to the park and had fun with our neighbors.. then my night ended with London saying this to me tonight..
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! Just hearing this makes my heart melt-
p.s. Any ideas on how to make London stay in her bed? I am doing the unthinkable and putting a movie on in her room, just for her to stay in there and fall asleep!!??

Swap
I haven't officially had the chance to introduce my new blog.. I have mentioned it on facebook but not here. I have decided to start a site up for people in Utah to trade stuff.. new or old, extra, or whatever else can be traded.. maybe even spouses or kids? :) Anyway, the more people we get involved in participating, the more unique items to trade... It's a work in progress and I think could be very helpful to a lot of people out there. For right now the items posted are items that someone owns that wants to get rid of, for something else. Really soon there will be also a part where you can post items you want as well.. So let's all start digging in and helping each other out! Please help me out and spread the word and follow the blog!

Nice people :)
There are nice people in this world and in my life. Sometimes I get cynical and start living in a protective place where I know for sure no one will get emotionally hurt that I am close to, as long as I protect them from EVERYONE that can hurt them. This sounds like a lot of work but I do this subconsciously somehow... and then someone side swipes me and knocks some sense into me that WOW.. there really are kind, loving, and genuine people that actually care with no strings attached. I am grateful for moments like today that can make me start believing in happiness and paying it forward. For me, life feels like a bumpy flight. It starts out smooth have a few minor bumps, then you set back and enjoy for a while then BAM turbulence all over the place... just to find yourself relaxed again... and then BAM it comes back. Is this normal? I have no idea.. I just know it's my reality and through it all, I have 2 very very hard but very very cute kids that I have to survive for ... well not only survive but succeed through it all. So I am just grateful for moments in life that I am apart of something special, unique, and happy- so I can add that to my bank of happy thoughts and little reminders on what life should be!
One of those people in my life is Jenny Heikkila. She appeared in my life as a huge ray of sunshine from the day I met her. Sounds cheesy but literally you look at her and her smile just radiates happiness. How lucky I was that when we met not long ago that I was in a place to get to know her. She is talented and she shares her talents with me! That's a good friend... she is a mommy, works at the hospital, a wife, and is another one of those girls that takes unique and beautiful pictures of my kids.. lucky me.

Trail
First of all... I read my last post about how sweet Isaiah was to London but I think someone hacked into my blog and wrote that because I am ready to giveaway both kids this week. How could I feel so calm and happy with my two kids when I feel the exact opposite way the next week??
This gives you an idea of our week:
Below is hard-to-see letter Isaiah left with a trail of arrows that led to outside in our backyard. He then proceeded to tell us that because he has gotten in trouble so much, that he decided he would make himself sleep outside because he was a naughty boy. He left us this trail of arrows showing where he would be. I couldn't help but giggle under my serious face as he explained what all the arrows meant.
I know one day we will look back at this and have a good laugh, but for now I am trying to figure out how I can be a more patient mother...
They exhaust me.

Little moments.
This is the kid of the week in our home.. he is special in so many ways. Besides the fact that he is smart, outgoing, sweet, sensitive, amazing karate master, and the best big brother... he is now in big boy school. I'm totally mixed on it. I'm excited for him though. I walked him through the halls the very 1st day and it brought back SO many memories. Don't all schools smell the same? I remember having a lot of my first moments in school.. when your friends hurt your feelings at recess and you go in crying.. to wanting to have your teacher pick you first while you are raising your hand as high as you can.... and then thinking this is just the beginning for him. So many positive and negatives that go on from here on out. I worry about his feelings especially because he is extra sensitive. I wish we as parents could shield him from all bullies or friends that don't include him, things of that nature. But instead I do what every parent does and LET GO. It's a hard concept and I think I will have to remind myself constantly - it's out of my hands. For so long he has relied on me for everything and now he is becoming independent enough to do it himself. That alone is a struggle for me but I am excited to watch him grow up and succeed - I am very proud of him already, and he is only 5 years young. This is obviously the 1st day of of kindergarten for my oldest and first child. Isaiah is the child that wakes up every morning with a big smile and is already for the day.. before I even wake up .. he makes his bed and cleans his room (mandatory before tv watching). London on the other hand, not so much!
Tonight I was cleaning the bathroom while listening to Isaiah talk to London.. If any of you know Isaiah, he is extremely scared and sensitive to the dark and night time. So this story is that much better knowing that.. London decided that SHE would be scared and not want to go to bed. So Isaiah was talking babyish to her and saying .. Londs, you know how you love babies? All you need to do is dream about being a mommy to LOTS of giggling babies then all that bad nightmares go away. Just think of things you like and it will help (this is exactly what I told him 5 minutes earlier). He also said, I know what it's like to be scared but I am not anymore.. because I just looked outside where I thought their were monsters and there was nothing there! So we will make sure you are safe London.. cause we love you.
Oh it definitely put a big smile on my face. How grateful I am for their relationship and how sweet Isaiah is to her. After a really long day and not having any patience left in my body.. that helped my whole night just to hear that small little conversation.
